Rock Paper Scissors Online With Friends

Online RPS fails when one person can see the other pick. A video call with a slow connection is enough to ruin it. A proper room does not show the opponent's symbol until both are in.

How Duetly does it

  1. You create a room and send a link.
  2. Each player taps rock, paper, or scissors.
  3. The other player only sees that you are ready — not which symbol.
  4. When both are ready, the server compares them and sends both results.

Why the server decides

If the client announced the winner, a modified browser could announce whatever it wanted. Your client never gets to name the result. It only proposes a choice. Play Rock Paper Scissors with a friend and you will see 'Choice locked' until the other person submits.

Phones

The three buttons are large on purpose. Use the native share sheet when it appears. If it does not, copy the link. The friend does not install anything.
