Three modes, ranked by how little they need

1. Local 2 Player — both players on one device, passing it back and forth. After the page loads it needs no connection at all. Ideal for a classroom pair or a queue.
2. Vs Computer — Easy picks random cells; Hard is a correct minimax search that cannot be beaten. Also runs completely in your browser.
3. Online with a friend — a private room with a link or code. Needs a live connection; Duetly uses a WebSocket with an HTTPS fallback so it passes most school and office filters.

Why filters usually let it through

• No app store, no installer, no browser extension. If the browser can open a normal website, the game runs.
• No login. There is no account system to block and no email to hand over.
• No ad-network embeds or third-party game iframes — the things filters most often flag as “games”.
• Works on Chromebook, Windows, Mac, iPad, Android, and any phone browser. Board and buttons are sized for touch.
